How EcoRay Selects Subcontractors and What Criteria They Must Meet for Verification and Certification
At EcoRay, we have one fundamental rule: We only collaborate with installation partners we would use for our own homes. This means our selection process is thorough, data-driven, and continuously monitored – not based on chance or volume alone. We don't see our subcontractors as anonymous installers but as an extension of our advisory services. Therefore, they must meet a series of strict technical, service, and commercial requirements before they are even considered as partners.
1. First: We Select – Not Them
We do not work with open partner programs: Local presence and geographical capacity Documented experience with solar panel systems (min. 100 installations) Completed quality assurance forms and technical tests References from previous customers and companies Financial stability and insurance coverage We reach out to the best players in the market and initiate discussions – not the other way around.
2. Certification: An Ongoing Quality Process
When a subcontractor is affiliated with the EcoRay platform, a systematic certification process begins. It consists of:
A. Technical Validation: Authorization as an electrical installer and RE-approval (Renewable Energy) Technical test history (e.g., inverter setup, battery integration, roof types) Ability to document correct connection, grid registration, and handover
B. Documentation and Reporting: Delivery of a full documentation package for all systems (incl. measurement data, photos, approvals) Traceability in materials and component selection Clear communication with the customer and EcoRay before, during, and after installation
C. Service Level and Communication: Fixed contact person and response within 24 hours Presence on the construction site as needed Professional conduct, tidy workplace, and clear handover to the customer
D. Warranty and Complaint Handling: Written commitment to handle defects and deficiencies within 14 days 5-year installation warranty (minimum) Commitment to cooperate with EcoRay in case of any disputes
3. Continuous Monitoring and Rating
Even if a supplier is approved, it is no guarantee of eternal cooperation. We have an internal rating system where all suppliers are measured on: Delivery time and punctuality Quality of installation and cabling Number of support inquiries from customers Willingness to cooperate and a solution-oriented approach Customer evaluations after the job is completed Subcontractors who do not meet the standard get one chance for improvement – thereafter, they are temporarily or permanently removed from the platform. We are not afraid to say goodbye to those who do not deliver.
4. Why We Don't "Stay Out of It" – But Stand in the Middle of It All
Although our subcontractors perform the actual installation and customer service after installation, EcoRay remains responsible for ensuring everything works. This means that: We handle the advisory and dimensioning 1:1 with the customer We coordinate startup and supervision together with the installer We follow up on delivery, documentation, and grid registration We actively intervene if doubts, errors, or misunderstandings arise In short: You are never alone with a technician. You have EcoRay backing you – and it's our name you can count on.
5. Future Requirements: We Are Elevating the Entire Industry
We are working to introduce ongoing further education, technical workshops, and common standards for all subcontractors on our platform. Our goal is not just to handpick the best – but to raise the level of the entire industry, so customers throughout Denmark get the quality they deserve.
Conclusion:
EcoRay does not choose the cheapest or fastest installers – we choose those who can match our ambition to be Denmark's most professional and transparent advisor in solar energy. Therefore, you not only get the right panels – you also get the right people on the roof.
