Can I Decide When My Battery Should Charge and Discharge
Can I Decide When My Battery Should Charge and Discharge?
Yes – with EcoRay's intelligent system, you can largely control how and when your battery should charge or discharge. This gives you control, flexibility, and the opportunity to optimize your finances based on your own needs and the electricity market's price development.
What Can You Control Yourself?
The system generally works automatically and intelligently – but you can adjust it at any time: Time Management: You can set the battery to charge during specific periods (e.g., midday with solar power) and discharge during others (e.g., evening when electricity is expensive). Price Optimization: If you have a variable electricity price (such as spot electricity), the battery can be set to only discharge when the electricity price is high – and possibly charge at night if the electricity is cheap. Prioritized Use: You can choose whether the battery should be used to maximize self-consumption, protect against power outages, participate in grid balancing – or a combination.
Example: This Is What a Daily Profile Can Look Like
You can follow everything via the app, where production, consumption, battery level, sales, and optimization are shown in real-time.
Why Is This Important?
With electricity prices fluctuating hour by hour, and new opportunities like grid balancing and spot price automation, you can achieve several thousand DKK in extra profit per year, simply by adapting the battery's use to your daily life and the market's rhythm. An example: A family with a 10 kWh battery and an electricity consumption of approx. 8,000 kWh annually could in 2024 save approx. DKK 14,000 annually just through normal self-consumption. But by intelligently using the battery – including grid balancing and utilizing high spot prices – the total savings increased to over DKK 17,000.
